Ibiza Sunsets Timelapse

One of our preferred activities in Ibiza, a part of going to the coves and beaches, is to see the Sunsets. We try to get it every day and time we go.

Usually we see them from the sands of the Kumharas, a very peaceful sunset bar, but also we can see it from the hotel (if the balcony orientation allows it) of from any point of the west coast of the island. Read more

Ibiza Coves: From Cala tarida to Cala Vedella

We dedicated our second day in Ibiza to discover some of the coves and beaches of the southwest of the island: Cala Tarida, Cala Es Molí y Cala Vedella; which are much more closer to the hotel and San Antonio.

Our premises to find beaches where spend a good while are good access between the car and the sand, easy to step in and out to the water and, no matter how many people are there, be calm and quiet. We need to be able to find our little place where to be more or less quiet and enjoy the sun and the sea. Read more

Ibiza Coves: From San Vicente to Portinatx

Our first day in Ibiza we crossed the island to begin enjoying its coves and beaches. Directly, we drove to the farthest corner at the East of the island to make a tour between the villages of San Vicente and Portinatx. We visited: Cala de San Vicente, Punta Grossa, Cala d’en Serra and Cala Xarraca (after Portinatx).

There are 3 types of roads in Ibiza: state roads, county roads and some non paved roads. The access to the majority of the most beautiful coves that we found is by a non paved road but only the last meters and they are in very good status. Our rented car (not a SUV nor a 4×4) arrived to all of the coves without problems. Read more

Hotel Azuline Bergantin – Ibiza

Hotel Azuline Bergantín - IbizaWe have been hosted in the Azuline Bergantin Hotel in San Antonio de Portmany (Ibiza) during a week.

San Antonio de Portmany es one of those villages focused completely to the tourism, I would say that the foreign tourism overall and this hotel reflects this fact.

Although the hotel was “refurbished” a few years ago and a new section was built, the rooms remains a little bit “old fashioned” and they are just to spend some days near the beach without many commodities. Air conditioned and TV. Safety box and hairdryer to rent. All of them have a balcony with a little table and chairs, some of them overlooking the sea and none of them have “mini-bar” or fridge. A photos blog

Jorge Mir Photo BlogSome days ago I started a new project. I have been working on my own blog for photos: my photoblog. In this new blog I will push some of my favorite photos, took along the last years (since I have a DSLR camera).

They are photos without a singular theme: sunsets, landscapes, skies, animals, flowers, monuments, temples, cities …

One of the purposes of this Photoblog is to improve my skills on  “digital photographic technique” both with the camera like with Photoshop. But, why to use a photoblog if there are places like Flickr or Picasa? Read more
